Browsers baby!!!

Well, I am not as excited about it as my title seems to imply.. I use Explorer pretty much every where I go. Home, school, whatever. I really should break out of my shell and try something different. Google Chrome sounds interesting because they focus on speed and out here in the sticks where I live, I could use all the speed I can get.
I mean, I like trying differents beers and foods and such so trying a different browser should not be a big deal, right?

  1. Ray,
I'm right there with you. I've given myself a comfort zone of just Internet Explorer because that's what i'm comfortable with. From reading other people's blogs I've decided to give a different browser a try =)

  2. I tried Google Chrome and didn't like it much, but it's only because I didn't like the preset tiles. I think there is an option to turn those off though. Chrome would probably be useful while we are in school because we could have tiles for the sites we visit most (SWCC and ICCOC)right there on the home page and we wouldn't have to search for them each time. I can see the benefit of it. I might try it again just to see.
I use Firefox most of the time at home because it works better with my computer. It also has some really cool add-ons for your browser. My favorite is the weather add-on that shows up on the status bar of the browser. I don't have to wait for KCCI's server to download the latest weather to me anymore. Now all I have to do is open Firefox and it's right there.

  3. You do need to get out there and try a new browser its amazing what the others are like. Firefox and Chrome are customizable which Explorer isn't. Chrome doesn't support Ecompanion though so you wouldn't be able to do you school work on it, it only works with Firefox and Explorer. So the easiest thing to do is crack open a beer and start downloading a different browser.

  4. Firefox works great for me when I am working in Dreamweaver and want to view a web page in a different browser. After reading several comments today, I am thinking I need to use it for more then just in Dreamweaver and maybe you should try it too.

  5. I have heard good things about Chrome, I have really only used it once thought. I don't remember how much I liked it, but I do remember I wasn't cursing at it when I was done using it! So that is a plus. I really don't care on what browser I use, to me they all get me to where I'm going. I have used Firefox and Internet Explorer, with Explorer being my default browser,so naturally everywhere I go I click on that Icon first. Habit I guess! Anyways yeah try Chrome it wouldn't hurt!
