Well , I don't personally have anything I would consider to be much of a handheld device. My daughter on the other hand has an LG smartphone which seems to be attached to her by an invisible string. It functions as a life support system because when she misplaces it she goes into shock. All kidding aside I asked her what she likes about it and she said it is easy to use the touchpad screen, she can update her Facebook status from anywhere and it takes great photos.
On the other hand she said it is a little more bulky that what she would like. I think if it was much smaller she would loose it and never find it.
I would like to see her have a device with voice activation. Then maybe she would be forced to use proper grammer when speaking,.........
Good points Ray. I just got texting put on my phone about two years ago and have been using it less and less since I first got it. I'd say I went from sending about 200 texts a day to now, 5-10 texts a day. Improper grammar bothers me as well, so I always spell everything out instead of saying things like "pry", "2nite", and "l8r". There were some people in class talking about how they can use voice recognition to write a text for them. I think they said it was a Desire phone that allows them to do so?
ReplyDeleteRay,
ReplyDeleteI hate your screen saver! It freaks me out!
Now about the assignment. You make a good point about the size of the phones getting smaller everyday and get lost and about the texting. I think they need to give the option on the phones to not accept slang text like 2day or btw and force the users to spell correctly.
Very good points! I remember when I was younger I wasnt lucky enough to have a phone and now kids cant live without them. In reality now I would also die without one. Ha
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for the smart phones to consider-grammar recognition. What's that? It probably wouldn't catch on as it would take too much space. I think the keyboards on the phones are just a little too small to make it easy to use.
ReplyDeleteKudos for having your assignment in already, overachiever...
A lot of people don't use proper grammer since texting became popular. I'm sure if they made phones voice recognizable people would find a way to make it so they could speak without proper grammer.
